21 is an inconsequential number to one who is STAND. [ July 15, 2009 @ 11:34 pm ] ryouga_elliot [ mood | awake ] [ music | Awakening the Chaos ] So I turn 21 in about 24 minutes from the start of this entry. For some reason, it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me anymore. I guess it's because I spent so much time in Japan being the stereotypical 21 year old, that I've already moved out of that phase or something. I'unno. I feel like I've managed to do so much up to this point that it's just another number. Albeit one that comes with gifts. Which I AM looking forward to. A lot. But yeah, I guess tomorrow will come and go, and then I'll have to renew my license etc. That's kind of a drag though to be honest. On the plus side, me and Jeff played BlazBlue from 8pm last night to 4am this morning. WOOPS. We took my Hakumen online, and I pretty much cleaned house. I only fought in one ranked match, but I won it. So I guess my ratio is 100%. =p As far as normal player fights are concerned, I lost the first seven matches playing as Ragna (poor idea). But once I switched back to Hakumen I started to dominate, and out of 20+ matches lost about three of them. I also saw HP6 today. Those of you who know me, know I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan. What I mean when I say that is that I've never read the books. Only seen the movies. And as a film fan, and not a HP one, I think 3 was by and far the best one. Granted, it was also directed by the man who brought us Children of Men, so I'm not too surprised in retrospect. Anyway, I thought this installment was rather fantastic, and lacked the overly emo overtones of the last one. Yes, it's dark, but Harry isn't sitting around moping about it. Probably more of a sign of character growth than anything. One of these days I'll watch all the HP films in order, and then finally read the books. I'd rather read them after I see the movies anyway that way I'll have enjoyed them from a completely neutral standpoint. Fans of books tend to be overly nitpicky and critical about film adaptations, so I'm fortunate in that I get a fresh look at the books etc. I also managed to convince my boss to let me write articles on anime/manga/video games, and he says he's more than happy to submit requests for review items etc. Awesome sauce. Anyway. I'm gonna go look at some BlazBlue strategy forums etc and see if I can't learn the crazy lingo used for describing combos that looks a lot like binary. >.> -Ryo enter (2) the soul-society
